I’ve been reading this guy Chase Jarvis’ blogs and watching his videos. He’s based out of Seattle… He has a post about the use of a lightmeter. He is the first pro I have seen that says taking a shot and adjusting in camera instead of using a meter is ok… Take a look at the post here. Keep it in mind when “they” are telling you that you need to meter every shot. Don’t get me wrong, I own a meter. I only use it when I’m in a studio though. On the street you don’t have time to stop and ask your subject “Excuse me, can you hold that pose while I meter and then take the shot?”
Do you need a light meter?

So I was searching for D300 stuff and came across a review on photographyblog.com. This was no ordinary review though. This was a writeup from Jan Vermeer a Dutch photographer. Some of his other stuff is here. The thing that got me though was the photography… Here are a couple but seriously you need to go look at the photographyblog.com review or his website to see all of them…
He has a book available too…
