While I was walking around the Statue of Liberty (Did you know you can’t go inside without making a reservation 2 weeks out?) there was a stand set up along the path with 3 or 4 young ladies taking pictures (for a fee of course) of tourists at the statue. They were using D40’s! (I think… all those new little ones look the same to me… ) So I told them that I was taking pictures for Nikon and wanted to take their picture to show that Nikon represents at the Statue of Liberty. They didn’t speak english very well so I don’t even know if they understood me. But here are the two snaps I took…

Nikon at the New York Mets Game
June 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment
I’m in New York right now and so I had to go to a Mets game (or three…). I get there for batting/fielding practice and I am looking around and there are Nikon signs in the outfield and in the press pits!
All I had with me the first night was my new Coolpix S550 which takes really awesome pictures!
Here’s the big sign in the outfield:
Here’s the third base press pit:
They also have photographers walking around taking pictures and then posting them at http://www.mets.com/fanphotos. Here is a pic of the photographers shirt showing the Nikon logo. They were using D40’s to take the photos.

Nikon at the MTV Movie Awards

While watching the MTV Movie awards just now I saw a familiar glimpse of yellow on black. I had to rewind the DVR (is it still called rewinding or just going back in time or what?) and yep! There it is! At 43 minutes in just after Will Smith accepted his award for Best Male Performance for I Am Legend… A photog sporting two D3’s.
There was a photog next to him with a barely visible Canon strap also. But the Nikon straps were in full view in all their glory.
I found some shots on Flickr… You only see a back to side profile but could I have just lucked out and found out who it was? Is it Chris Pizzello? Chris if you are out there can you confirm this for me?
